Luke Hersheson for Jonathan Saunders at Tate Britain, London Fashion Week SS14.
Hidden amongst the satin and the slouch is a reworked rush of 70s nostalgia. Jonathan Saunders showed us sheer shirts and silk shorts with repeated print on anything from oversized bomber jackets to ombre skirts. This collection is a wash of psychedelic colours and feminine florals that displays the death of minimalism.
Luke said: "We really wanted to give the hair character. A lot of the girls in the show have interesting hair and great cuts and bangs. I think that’s a lot more interesting so we tried to play to that.”
Creating a laid-back skater attitude, Luke worked loose waves to balance the otherwise girly elements. Following the free spirited aesthetics of the collection hair was kept boyish and cool. Luke mixed our Batiste dry shampoo with grease to create a contrasting tough edge.
