The 3-Step Anti-Frizz Guide No One Told You About
Frizz is one of those hair problems that can feel inevitable – especially when the weather isn’t playing ball. But the way you dry, style and finish your hair can make a huge difference. Before you resign yourself to a halo of flyaways, try these three things.
1. Prep before you dry
Good anti-frizz work starts while hair is still damp. Rather than waiting until it’s dry and trying to smooth down flyaways after the fact, work a small amount of Almost Everything Cream through your mid-lengths and ends before you start styling. It helps smooth, soften and add definition without weighing hair down.
If you’re leaving hair to dry naturally, Air Dry Spray is your friend. Spritz it through damp hair, scrunch and leave it alone – it helps enhance your natural texture for an intentionally undone finish, rather than one that simply looks frizzy.
2. Get your blow-dry right
How you dry your hair matters more than you might think. Rather than blasting it from every direction, use The Great Hairdryer with the nozzle pointing down the hair shaft, working from root to tip. This encourages the cuticle to lie flatter, which means a smoother, shinier finish.
Use a The Pro Blow Dry Brush to keep tension on each section as you go, and don’t rush it. Once the hair is smooth, finish with cool air to help set the shape.
3. Finish – don’t smother
The temptation with frizz is to throw everything at it. Don’t. Too much product can quickly take hair from smooth to lank, particularly if it’s fine. Instead, warm a tiny amount of Almost Everything Cream between your palms and lightly skim your hands over the surface of the hair, concentrating on any flyaways and fluffy ends. Start with less than you think you need – you can always add more. The aim is hair that looks naturally smooth, not hair that looks like you’ve tried very hard to make it so.
