How Luke Created Karlie Kloss's Beach Waves
When Luke worked with Karlie Kloss recently, he built her look from the ground up: a little extra hair added for fullness, then a blow-dry using The Great Hairdryer and a medium round brush to lay the foundation. The result? Glossy beach waves fit for a summer soirée.
"I used Air Dry Spray as a volumising setting spray to get some root lift and body into it," Luke explains. From there, he pin curled the hair to lock in the shape – a small step that makes a big difference to how long the waves last.
For the texture, Luke reached for the large tong attachment on The Multi-Tasker. "I went through it and loosely tonged in a beach wave motion – twisting the tong as I went." Once the waves were in, he pulled everything apart with his hands to keep the finish natural, rather than set.
The front sections are where the detail lies. "I made sure both sides were facing away from the face – you get this really nice face-framing effect that works so well on Karlie." A spritz of Air Dry Spray and a little Almost Everything Cream run through the lengths, and the look was complete.
