HOW TO GET RID OF FRIZZ FAST

HOW TO GET RID OF FRIZZ FAST

Beating frizz is one of those endless conundrums that many people seem to struggle with. If you have frizzy hair, it’s more than likely that you want to smooth that fuzz – without making your hair look flat, limp and lifeless (which is what many traditional hair serums and creams do).

Whether you’ve got a bob, long, mid–length hair or even a fringe, finding that sweet spot between achieving frizz–free hair and honouring the shape of your cut is challenging but possible – and something of a Hershesons specialty.

“A small amount of frizz actually gives your hair its natural texture, lending it body and movement. It’s great for those days when you want to rock a tousled bob or beachy wave vibe. Yet, when you reach the point of having a halo of fuzz, there are certain quick fixes that will help you achieve smooth hair that never feels flat or lifeless.” – Luke Hersheson

What causes frizz?

Frizz is caused by many things (hair type, hormones, blow drying technique), but something that affects us all is the weather. When it's rainy – or sticky, hot and humid – moisture from the air makes its way into the hair structure, causing the cuticle to swell and become rough. This change is what lies behind that dry, bushy, fuzzy, out-of-control mess – the kind of frizz we don't appreciate at all.

How to prevent frizz

As they say, prevention is better than cure. So, get your post–shower routine right. Avoid touching your hair with your fingers (which will create frizz). Likewise, don’t rub your hair with a towel. Instead, detangle wet hair with this brush, then smooth 1 to 2 pumps of Almost Everything Cream through your mid–lengths and ends to prevent frizz forming later.

Perfect your air dry technique

People often assume that air drying will leave your hair lifeless and without shape or movement, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. After you’ve applied Almost Everything Cream to wet hair, use these clips to create face–framing shape, then rub a small amount of Zhoosh Foam into the roots where you need a little more body and lift. This video shows you how.

Fix frizz on the go

So, you forgot to apply your Almost Everything Cream this morning, and after a session in the gym or getting caught in a rain shower, your hair is a frizzy mess. Almost Everything Cream also works on dry hair. Just apply a plump to your palms, rub them together, and use them to gently smooth away any frizz or flyaways. You can also rub some into dry ends to bring them back to life. If you want to add a little softness to second–day hair, use the Everyday Essential Brush to smooth and amp up shine.

Use you dryer to nix frizz

Blow drying with this brush will smooth the hair cuticle and get rid of frizz. Luckily, as the lightest, fastest dryer around, the Great Hairdryer also does the job in record time. Just check out this video on how to perfect a 5–minute blow dry, and you’ll see what we mean.
