5 Fringes That Prove It’s Always A Good Idea In Autumn

5 Fringes That Prove It’s Always A Good Idea In Autumn

There’s something about autumn that means a fringe just makes sense. The perfect counterpoint to soft knits, chunkier collars and scarves, it adds shape and structure – plus colder weather mean it isn’t going to get glued to your forehead in an unsightly fashion. In fact, bangs tend to behave better in this weather, so if you’re a first-time fringer, now is the perfect moment to get them.

In salon, we’ve noted an influx of clients requesting a mixture of different looks – not to mention everyone from Jennifer Lawrence to Zoẽ Saldana and Demi Moore have just succumbed to the trend – so we’re sharing some of them here.

P.s. You’ll need some of our Almost Everything Cream to help you style – it adds definition, helps control flyaways and is the perfect partner to pretty much every fringe.

Curtain bangs

Soft, split through the centre and falling into face-framing layers, curtain bangs are the most adaptable version of the fringe. They grow out easily and work on almost every length or texture.

Blunt bangs

Precise, straight and unapologetic, a blunt fringe draws the eye and defines the face. It works best with clean lines – a sharp bob or sleek blow-dry – and adds polish to minimal styling. No layers, no fuss, just confidence in a cut.

Peaked bangs

A subtle point through the centre gives peaked bangs a sculpted, lifted shape. They lengthen the face slightly and bring balance to rounder features. This is a quiet detail that changes the whole silhouette – they’re noticeable without being obvious.

Curly bangs

A fringe that works with, not against, natural texture. Curly bangs frame the face with softness and shape, giving definition without weight. Keke Palmer’s version is a good reference: full of movement and completely her own.

Jane Austen bangs

Wispy, romantic and a little undone, these shorter, face-skimming pieces have Regency softness. Adwoa Aboah and Ariana Gra de both wear them with effortless texture, showing how a loose, feathery fringe can add movement without needing to be styled into place.
