3 Flyaway Hacks That Don’t Make Hair Greasy
Flyaways are annoying; but flat, greasy hair is arguably worse. While oils and heavy serums can smooth rogue hairs, they can also quickly weigh everything down – particularly if your hair is fine. The trick is to use as little product as possible, exactly where you need it.
1. Use a toothbrush
Spritz a clean toothbrush with hairspray – rather than spraying directly onto your hair – or a smoothing product, like Almost Everything Cream, then gently brush it over flyaways around the hairline and parting. You achieve precision without overloading the rest of your hair.
2. Try the palm trick
Rub a tiny amount of Almost Everything Cream between your palms until there's barely anything left, then lightly skim your hands over flyaways. Don't press down: you're smoothing, not slicking.
3. Use what's left on your brush
Apply your styling product to the lengths first, then use your brush – with only the residue that's left on it – to smooth the top of your hair. It's often all you need.
