A new year calls for a fresh new cut – and 2024 is all about bangs. Whether ’70s-style curtain bangs or wispy, face-framing pieces, there is a fringe for every face shape, aesthetic and hair texture – the key is finding a good hairdresser who can adapt your preferred look to your face shape.
Bangs make every look distinct and cool, so what are you waiting for?
Here’s some of our favourites to inspire your look.
1. Curtain bangs
Curtain bangs are when the fringe graduates from the centre of the face outwards. Like curtains, they frame the area of the face in which they fall at.
2. Full fringe
Full fringes haven’t been so popular in recent years, but they are making a comeback. Instead of opting for a heavy, straight fringe, make like Dakota Johnson, with some slightly shorter strands in the middle of the head.
3. Hepburn fringe
One of Audrey Hepburn’s defining features? Her choppy micro-fringe which framed her bold brows and big, doe eyes. Not one for everyone, it takes attitude and confidence to pull this one off.
4. Bottleneck bangs
Not too dissimilar from the curtain fringe, bottleneck bangs create a similar silhouette to that of a bottleneck, which explains the name. Best worn undone and a little texturised, Sabrina Carpenter is a great poster girl for the look.
