“I like this idea of the dip dye coming back, kind of like a noughties Olsens twin reference,” Nicole told Glamour magazine earlier this month. Mary Kate and Ashley have long inspired fashion devotees, but their undone and effortless sensibility is also a hit in the hair department. The Olsen dip is defined by a kind of light, sunkissed end and darker roots – it’s giving beachy sunshine hair, but is created in salon via a freehand colour painting technique. “It really pushes the idea that you had your hair done a few months ago, as opposed to something that’s freshly done,” Nicole says. It’s all about a subtle blend that gives a grungey, lived-in finish –iIn fact, it’s the perfect look for every season, but makes winter hair looks a little lighter and brighter.
