THE BEST HAIR COLOUR TRANSFORMATIONS FOR SPRING

After a long, dark winter shaking up your hair colour is an effortless way to upgrade your overall look for spring. And this year, copper is trending.

Take your cue from Hailey, Kendall and Phoebe Dynevor: From subtle transformations to a statement switch–up, here’s our top 3 ways to get Great Copper – and what to ask for when you book your colourist.

Deep Copper on Phoebe, by James

Phoebe wanted something rich and luxurious to transform her naturally brown hair.

“To achieve this look, I built up layers of colour, adding a softer tone on the roots, and a slightly brighter one on the lengths and ends. This subtle tonal contrast helps create a really natural finish. As I used permanent colour to create, I added a copper gloss at the end, as this helps rebalance the pH of the hair to make it super healthy and shiny, and help the colour last longer. The secret to this richness lies in all the little details,” says James.

Strawberry Copper on Beatrice, by Jason

Beatrice went from blonde to copper to suit her skintone.

“This fresh but soft look is all about the strawberry tone, which really flatters Beatrice’s skin. I added warm tones to the hair first, then did the roots, and glossed the whole thing to create the perfect colour for her,” says Jason.

Bright Copper on Sophia, by Alexe

As the ultimate transformation, Sophia went from dark to bright orange for a playful look that feels fresh for a new season.

“This look is much more about using freestyle techniques and my own experience as a colourist. We picked an edgy colour as it’s the first step towards something exciting she’s working on right now,” says Alexe, who bleached Sophia’s hair for nine hours using foils for highlights. As she had been dyeing her hair dark using box dye for many years, every single strand had to be lightened before we added the orange in order for the look to work.”
