The Blowout Hack Stylists Swear By For Perfect Hair Days
A great blow-dry shouldn’t disappear the minute you step outside or hit the pillow. With a few smart tweaks (and the right products), you can stretch that fresh-out-the-salon feeling for days. Here’s how:
Start with a clean canvas
Oil, residue and scalp build-up are the fastest blow-dry killers, so make sure you double cleanse your hair and avoid using conditioner at the roots – mid-lengths and ends only.
Prep properly
This is where most people go wrong. The prep step is key – if you skip it, you’ll find your blow-dry has infinitely reduced longevity. Our salon secret is Zhoosh, a dry foam which injects volume, structure and hold into the hair in seconds. Apply a golf ball-sized amount and work it into the roots until it disappears. It’s lightweight and non-crunchy – you simply can’t go wrong.
Try directional drying
A long-lasting blow-dry is all in the root lift. Use your Pro Blow-Dry Brush, lifting hair upwards at the root and smoothing through the lengths. Always finish each section with a cool shot of air to lock the shape in place.
Sleep on silk
If you sleep on a cotton and/or linen pillowcase, chances are it’s ruining your blow-dry. If you want to extend its life, consider swapping for silk or wrap hair into a claw clip as you sleep to reduce friction on the hair.
Revive it!
To keep it going as long as possible, apply Zhoosh Foam each morning to reignite texture and movement – easy.
