How Luke Gave Iris Law The Coolest Hair On The Cannes Red Carpet

“I think this could be my new favourite hair,” said our founder, Luke, of Iris Law’s effortlessly flicked, long pixie cut on the Cannes red carpet this week.

Reimagining a classic red carpet look, Luke took cues from two hair icons: Meg Ryan’s early Noughties flick crop, and a photo of Courtney Love’s slept-in texture. The goal? Hair that looked lived-in – with slight “imperfections” – rather than laboured. “There was a ’90s sleepwear vibe to the dress, and we wanted to echo that sense of playfulness,” he says. “The final result felt ethereal – I’m very into it.”

To bring the look to life, he started by prepping Iris’ hair with Almost Everything Cream, to smooth frizz, nourish the hair and provide a great base of styling. Next, he loosely pin-curled sections with Great Hair Clips to create natural bends and movement.

Then came a sneak peek of something new: Luke attached the unreleased Hershesons Sock Diffuser (watch this space) to The Great Hairdryer, then lightly misted Air Dry Spray throughout for touchable texture and grit. The result? Softly tousled, cool-girl hair with a hint of fluffiness.

Yet more proof that short hair never has to be boring, just like Luke, we’re hooked.
