Frizz, Who? 4 Humidity Hair Hacks That Actually Work

Frizz, Who? 4 Humidity Hair Hacks That Actually Work

Humidity is rarely a head of hair’s best friend. Causing frizz, flatness, a lacklustre finish and loss of definition, when the air is full of moisture, our hair absorbs it, causing the cuticle to swell and lift. The key to keeping it soft, sleek and shiny, no matter the weather, is to lock in moisture and smooth the hair cuticle. Here are some of our top tips:

Hydrate your hair

The more hydrated your hair, the less it reacts to humidity. A moisturising shampoo and conditioner can help, plus it’s also worth adding in a weekly deep conditioning mask to your routine. The Hershesons Almost Everything Cream is brilliant at taming and moisturising day to day, plus it also doubles up as a mask – simply apply to the hair, leave on for 10 minutes then wash off.

Seal the hair cuticle

When you finish washing your hair, try blasting it with cold water – it will help seal the cuticle, which in turn reduces your chance of getting frizzy. Apply Almost Everything Cream to mid-lengths afterwards for optimal cuticle health.

Switch to protective styles

Try buns, braids and/or sleek ponytails to minimise the hair’s exposure to airborne moisture.

Make sure your hair is completely dry

Partially dried hair absorbs more moisture from the air, so make sure you’ve dried your locks completely before leaving the house – our Great Hairdryer drastically reduces drying time, plus it’s lightweight and easy to use.
