HERSHESONS
E-mail Address:

Eight cuts. Eight different head-spaces. Eight separate templates, each one designed to be a starting point for defining your character.

If you’re looking at this website, you’re thinking about one of the biggest creative choices we make; setting a look to live with. To be yourself in. Every hair idea comes from somewhere. It has to fit the times, fit your face, run hand-in-hand with fashion. It’s a building block of identity, a tool for every day self- expression.
One size uniformity can’t do that.

Which is why it’s time to talk about cutting again. A decade of non-cuts is being overturned here by a fresh Hersheson culture. These eight directional base line shapes are devised to be personalised. Some are shorter, some skew longer. There’s softness, and there’s structure. Each cut has a backstory blended from the sixties, seventies, eighties and nineties heroines of fashion, from street and pop-culture. All of them are rebooted to be twenty first century relevant. And the whole point?
Everything’s there to be discussed adapted, tweaked, perfected. On you.

CUT I - A side parted chin-length bob amped up with a wave and a scrunch. This bounce-back look has the feel of mid-eighties retro, but with the energy of a completely energetic modern girl.

Cut II - Radical. Daring. A bowl-cut expertly scissored to frame a face and expose a beautiful neck is as strong a silhouette as a brilliant piece of fashion design.

Cut III - Face-framing, tumbling, natural looking: this centre-parted ‘invisible’ cut calls up images of Julie christie and Sharon Tate. Designed to be styled many ways. But always good with a pout.

Cut IV - Flipped over one eye, angled up from the back, swishy in movement, this cut has something of the look of Sherilyn Fenn in Twin Peaks. Fifties meets early Nineties retro, but radically refreshed.

Cut V- Stevie Nicks owned this cool girl-in-the-band cut back in the day. Now re-channelled with a fringe and artfully hacked-up layers.

Cut VI -This crop has the gamine schoolboy genes which famously turned Linda Evangelista into a supermodel. Here it is for a second generation: thick on top, heavy over the eyes, tenderly layered into a chic nape.

Cut VIII - Mod proportions: there’s a meticulously carved concave fringe, a lift in the crown, and a crucial new- look mid-length, grazing the shoulder. Something of the poetic air of a young Marianne Faithfull, recaptured.

Cut VII - Calling all Blondies: is there something eternally compelling about the deep parted side sweep and tousled rock chick texture of this cut? Yes. But you don’t have to be blonde to channel it.
