Linen blonde is spring’s most in-demand hair colour

We’re all about creating great hair without too much fuss at Hershesons, which is why one of our favourite hair colour trends right now is a type of blonde that requires less maintenance than your average. Linen blonde, which is currently trending in salon, takes inspiration from its fabric namesake, drawing upon soft, neutral tones of natural linen to elevate the skin as much as the hair.

Celebrity fans of the look include Sofia Richie and Margot Robbie, both of whom have creamy tones of beige, earthy blondes and latte woven through their hair. They’re also great examples of how linen blonde offers a relaxed, cool-girl finish. A sun-kissed touch, blonde, but not too blonde, the trend offers a lived-in, effortless appeal. Put simply: it’s for those that don’t want to look like they’ve had too much colour put in their hair.

The linen blonde technique involves combining a mixture of highlights and lowlights to add depth and dimension – a good colourist (check out our colourists at Hershesons LINK) will be able to discuss how they’ll approach the look with you to ensure your best features are enhanced. Often, they’ll add lighter shades around the face to bring light and warmth to the skin.

An excellent neutral blonde for those wanting to tap their toe in to a lighter hue – or, of course, for those wanting to step away from extensive highlights or bleach – linen blonde is one of spring’s most popular colour trends for a reason: it’s versatile and works on lots of different skin tones and hair types.

While there is less bleach involved than with platinum or icy blondes, we still recommend ensuring your home-care routine is tip-top for healthy, shiny hair. As well as using a good colour-care shampoo and conditioner, incorporate weekly nourishing masks. Oh, and when you use heat to style, our Almost Everything Cream is great at protecting and nourishing the hair, so don’t forget to apply.
