5 easy ways to update your hair for spring

Spring beckons, at long last. A time for renewal and preparing for summer sunshine, spring is the perfect time to refresh your routine. Whether that’s making a small switch – like changing your parting – or opting for a brand new cut, here are some of our favourite ways to shake up your hair now.

Air dry your hair

‘Tis the season to… air dry your hair. As warmer days roll in, there’s nothing better than letting hair do its thing after it’s been washed. Simply shampoo, squeeze moisture out of mid-lengths and ends (don’t rub hair with a towel – it creates frizz) and mist our Air Dry Spray, then scrunch in. It creates easy, effortless, tousled ends without drying out the hair – and if you’re already a curly girl, it helps define them.

Add layers in

Going for a haircut? You don’t necessarily need to get a dramatic haircut chopped in; instead, try adding some layers. A great way to frame the face and lend texture and movement through the hair, layers can be minimal – i.e. a few feathered pieces around the face – or more extreme, as in a shag or wolf haircut. Speak to your stylist about finding the right look for you.

Change your parting

‌One of the easiest ways to switch up your style? Simply swap your parting to another side. If you’re a centre parting devotee, try switching it to a deep side parting (you’ll find it quickly adds volume) and vice versa. Easy, free and super chic.

Bangs are always a good idea

‌A change of season is a great time to try a new look – and one of the coolest ways to transform your current style is by experimenting with bangs. Sweeping curtain bangs look good on most face shapes and are relatively easy to style (plus they grow out quickly if you don’t get on well with them), while full, wispy fringes are super flattering – and are having a moment right now.

Style in a different way

‌Consider your hair-care “status quo”. Do you always straighten your hair? If so, try mastering the art of curling – our Wavemaker makes it incredibly easy. If you’re someone who always wears their hair down, why not try a slicked-back bun? Or if you’ve always been a luxe blow-dry person, next time, ask your stylist for a gentle wave instead. It’s a great time to try new things.
