Who isn't a little bit obsessed with gorgeously long, thick hair? Even the A-List can't escape the allure of XXL hair, with some sources quoting over 90% of female celebrities rely on some form of hair enhancement to achieve their look. And chances are, most of us need a helping hand too if we want that fuller look. Thankfully, quality hair extension services are not limited to just celebrities these days. Meet Daniel Hersheson salon's new talent and hair extension expert, Jordan M. With just shy of 15 years experience in the hair industry, Jordan is as good as it gets when it comes to extension fitting. Coming from a hairdressing background meant that she had a head start, assisting an extensionist aged just 12. At 21, she was appointed as National Educator for Great Lengths. As a trainer for an internationally renowned extension company, Jordan M. established herself as a reputable name in the industry. Not only is she able to pass on her valuable skills to the next generation of extensionists, she's always on the pulse with the latest techniques and the best products to use on her own clientele. Now officially taking appointments at Daniel Hershesons's flagship salon on Conduit Street, we took the opportunity to unearth Jordan's secret tips and to get to know the girl behind the extension gun.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I've been doing extensions for nearly 15 years now so I've tried and tested every brand and method possible. Whilst educating for the worlds leading extension brand, Great Lengths, I gained vast amount of extension knowledge. You could say I'm a bit of a hair extension geek.

How did you get to where you are now in your career?

Persistence! Someone once told me extensions would never be my career and I think after that I wanted to prove them wrong.

Who are your biggest inspirations?

Priscilla Valles, her clientele is phenomenal.

The most annoying misconception about hair extensions ?

That they damage your hair and don't look natural. An extensionist should always check your hair density when determining what amount of hair will be used. With an expert application and removal no damage should ever be done. The bond work is just as important as the overall look.

Do you have a signature style / look you love to create with hair extensions?

Big, bouncy, glamorous hair is my signature.

What's been your favourite moment / experience so far?

I have so many! Becoming a National Educator for Great Lengths means I get to share my knowledge with my students. There's so much satisfaction in teaching, I love watching them grow and improve their craft. Styling Kim Cattrall's hair when I was about 19 and obsessed with SATC is another unforgettable moment.

The tried and tested products / tools you can't live without?

As a proud owner of around 50 curling tongs of every size, I'd have to say they're my favourite. And I always keep Dry Texturising Spray with me - it's great for creating more volume at the root, eliminating any oil and giving the ends more texture.

Three tips to make extensions last longer.

1. Have a monthly blow-dry with your extensionist so they can make sure they are being maintained correctly to ensure they stay looking better for longer.

2. Use the correct aftercare and brush.

3. Use a silk pillowcase. Amazing not only for your extensions but also for your skin. It will keep hair extensions sleek and shiny with no matting.
